My favorite affordable, non toxic skincare products that I use daily
I have always been picky about what I put on my skin, and in the last year I have really nailed down a non toxic skincare routine that:
1. Works for my skin
2. Doesn’t break the bank (*husband takes a sigh of relief*)
I always start my AM and PM skincare routine by washing my face with cold water. Does it really matter the temp of the water? The jury is still out on this one. Warm to hot water can be drying, and since I have dry skin, I try to avoid anything that would further dry it out. So, cold water for me!
After washing and patting dry with a towel, I apply these products, in order.
- AM Non toxic skincare routine
- Rose water facial mist
- Vitamin C smoothing serum
- Brightening eye gel
- SPF facial moisturizer
- SPF for neck and décolleté area
After washing and patting dry with a towel, I apply these products, in order.
- PM non toxic Skincare routine
- Micellar toning water (apply with fingertips or a cotton pad to remove excess dirt/makeup)
- Glowing facial serum (1 pump)
- Overnight facial peel (1 pump)
- Hydrating eye cream
- Rejuvenating night cream
After applying these products, I use this Jade roller. I roll over my cheek bones, forehead, under eyes and neck, spending 10 seconds or so on each area. Jade rolling helps the product absorb into your skin, plus it helps de-puff and cool your skin.
If I am wearing makeup, I use these makeup remover wipes to take off my makeup (especially eye makeup, bc no one wants to look like a raccoon the next morning) before starting my nighttime skincare regimen.
If I have a pimple (or several, because #hormonalacne) I use this acne spot treatment. It’s effective but not drying, and of course, has clean ingredients rather than harsh chemicals to fight breakouts.
I also like these acne scar treatment “stickers.” I really noticed a difference after using these on fresh acne scars—they faded much quicker with the help of this product!
Once or twice a week, I like to use this seaweed facial scrub to help exfoliate my dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and bright! It is somewhat abrasive, so I limit use to once or twice per week.
Also on a weekly basis, I use this brightening face mask to help hydrate and balance out my skin. This is great for unclogging pores—if you wear makeup often, or, if you’re like me and sweat frequently!
